Highball Glasses
When you need to serve tall drinks, you need a great highball glass. Typically they are 8 to 12 ounces although from time to time, you may fined a highball glass in a different size. Most often, highball glasses are used when making drinks (such as highballs) that have a high proportion of liquor to mixer. Some examples of drinks that you may serve in a highball glass are bourbon and water, Bloody Mary, Scotch and Soda, etc. It is also ideal to keep your highball glasses chilled so that when you serve drinks in them, the tall drink will stay cold for a longer period of time.
If you are stocking a new or existing commercial bar, you will want to have a lot of highball glasses. You may choose from the simple and plain highball glass or the more elaborately decorated highball glass. The most important thing is that you have enough as these will be commonly used in the bar setting and can also be used to serve beer if you run out of beer glasses.
If you are stocking a small bar, a home bar or your personal use, you will not need as many highball glasses. The number you choose will depend on how often you and your guests drink highballs and how many guests you tend to have at one time.
